The Beginnings
2021
In rural Southeast Asia, our family discovered artisan communities crafting extraordinary homeware pieces. Will, based in the UK, and his father Ian, in Asia, realised the world needed to see these treasures. Willow Tree was born from that moment: a family-run bridge between continents, committed to sharing this beauty whilst helping preserve centuries-old traditions.

The Idea Coming to Life
2022
We started working closely with our artisan partners to bring our ideas to life. Those first samples were brilliant - seeing our plans beginning to transform into something tangible. Not all of them made it into our final collection, but that didn't matter. They taught us what was possible, showed us how to work together, and proved that when you collaborate with true craftspeople, magic happens.

Boots on the ground
2024
We secured the keys to our first UK warehouse - a moment we'd dreamed about. Around the same time, we landed our first stockists over in Scandinavia, and the response took us by surprise. Demand started to fly, and people genuinely loved what we'd created. This gave us hope and confidence that these designs 'worked' and the craftsmanship behind the collection was felt.

We're live
2025
After years of planning, collaborating, and refining, our first collection was finally complete. We watched it set sail for the UK, knowing everything we'd dreamed about since 2021 was on its way. All those conversations with artisans, the samples, the learning, the growth—it was all leading to this moment. In late September, we launched. It felt surreal to finally share what we'd built with the world, to see our vision become reality for customers to hold and cherish in their homes.
Handcrafted Candleholders
From Raw Material to Finished Beauty
From earth to art, formed by an existing hill tribe, using traditional methods passed down through generations since the ancient kingdoms. They venture by the river to source local clay, then each piece is carefully shaped by hand. The colour is added by infusing the clay with the natural hues of rice husk. It is finally placed into traditional kilns where fire transforms raw earth into timeless beauty.
What emerges is more than pottery; it's a story of heritage, sustainability, and the unbreakable bond between maker and material.
